It's a simulation of our own making.
Albert Einstein once noted that "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." If he were alive today, scrolling through a social media feed or watching a televised rally, he’d likely feel vindicated … and probably a little horrified.
There’s been a lot of buzz about the "Simulation Theory" in the context of sci-fi tropes or Silicon Valley thought experiments. But the simulation we’re currently living in isn't powered by a massive GPU in a distant galaxy.
It’s powered by us.
The Architect of Unreality
In this distorted landscape, Donald Trump functions less like a traditional politician and more like the Main Player in a broken RPG. He has pushed the boundaries of truth to such an extreme that we have reached a point of collective vertigo.
Look, I hate to break it to you, but if his mouth is moving or his porky little nubs are typing, he’s lying.. We’ve reached a stage where:
Universal truth has vanished. There are no grounded facts we all share.
The "Funhouse Mirror" effect: We are wandering through a maze where every surface is cracked, distorting reality into billions of different versions.
The NPC Phenomenon: By accepting these distortions, we’ve effectively surrendered our agency, behaving like Non-Player Characters in someone else's chaotic narrative.
The Algorithm is the Code
The "Matrix" isn't hidden streams of green code; it’s the magic glass slab in your pocket. We aren't being rendered by a supercomputer; we are being programmed by bespoke algorithms.

Planck’s observation has taken on a dark, literal meaning in the digital age. Our feeds are highly customized loops that ensure we only see as far as the algorithm allows. We have collectively embraced this chaos with every login, every swipe, and every infinite scroll.
While the tech oligarchy and the politicians they bankroll deserve the lion's share of the blame, we have to face a hard truth: we allowed this to happen. We chose the "simulation" because ignorance is often easier than the heavy lifting of objective reality.
When the Simulation Glitches
The problem with building a reality on lies is that eventually, it hits an immovable object. Whether it's the hollow ring of a staged narrative or the complex geopolitical reality of nations like Iran, the cracks in the funhouse mirror eventually start to cave in.
When the illusion falters, we are left with the grim realization of the maze we're in: a claustrophobic space occupied by leadership that is increasingly detached from any recognizable version of sanity.
The Act of Resistance
If reality is truly what we make it, then the simulation only lasts as long as we stay plugged in. The illusion may be persistent, but we still control the "observation."
The most profound act of resistance today is simply opening your eyes. To see things as they really are—unfiltered by the algorithm and unswayed by the "Main Player"—is the only way to break the loop.
